We have encountered a number of customers where the database server is periodically recycling transaction IDs, causing issues with the Red Hat Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 (RHEL 9) database server. This issue is caused by a bug that exists in Oracle Database Server versions 10.2.0.3, 10.2.0.4, 10.2.0.5, 11.1.0.7, and 11.2.0.2 that allows unauthorized users to obtain the session key and salt to decrypt passwords stored in the encrypted password file.
Given how this is a binary for OSX, there's really not much to show off here. A few small changes to app menu, particularly the fix to the bug I was dup'd on. Also, we've pulled in the latest recipe for OSX, so any additional savages are available in the menu. However, you do have to manually download the recipe yourself to the apps folder.
However, I really want to stress that we're setting up a way for us to control which apps you permit to run. That allows us to have a more controlled and granular security on the applications we allow to run. It's on a temporary basis at this point; we'll be publishing a timeline for what we'd like to do by the end of next week. We've also got a new app icon for this build, but it still isn't completely final.
So be prepared for a few dates when it clears and you can't click on it and rerun. If you have any issues, please drop by the appstore site and give us a bug report. I'm likely to take more time on the next version to give you more control over which apps can run; the risk of simply updating your installs without your approval is too great, and while it's unlikely this ever happens, it only takes one bad actor to completely compromise your system if you don't go through the app store controls.
So, after all the conversations / chats / e-mails about various issues we’ve encountered with this version, and after an apparently ‘fixed’ version of IPSprakPro is released, I find that there are still some problems with the latest version.
